School Electronics Recycling Programs

School Electronics RecyclingRecent headlines have drawn unwanted attention to School Electronics Recycling issues.  Let’s face it, school districts do not have the time to deal with many things that need to be dealt with among the chaos of a school day.  Teachers and Administrators are busy shaping the lives of our children, dealing with everything that happens in the course of a day, and juggling budget constraints.  So things that may not seem important at the time get moved to tomorrow or shoved in a room or a closet to be dealt with later.  Amidst the recent importance of using R2 certified electronic recyclers to protect student and faculty information and ensuring that unwanted electronic assets are not land filled or exported to developing countries.

Today, schools are compelled to take advantage of a wealth of new classroom technologies to be competitive and current such as interactive whiteboards, digital cameras, cell phones, projectors, iPads and more. As new technology and software constantly enters schools yesterday’s cutting edge devices are now obsolete.  This leaves important considerations for what to do with the old equipment, how to safeguard data and not impact the district budget. So what’s the solution?

Each of our 9 certified locations has the ability to responsibly recycle your electronics and handle the data destruction that every school is looking for.  Every location has the ability to wipe data bearing devices with our NIST approved wiping software ensuring complete eradication of all data from each device.  We also offer to our customer’s access to our Client Portal.  This portal is secure to all U.S. Government requirements and allows our customers 24/7 access to their equipment.  Portal users are able to view the status of their equipment, schedule pick-ups, and print Certificates of Recycling and Destruction.  ATR also offers a complete and secure chain of custody logistics program.  ATR owns and operates their own fleet of  semis, box trucks, and cargo vans guaranteeing that your equipment will be secure during transport from your facility to ours.  Our trucks are also equipped with Geotab software and that software allows us to view our fleet of vehicles in real time and track where they are when they are in route.  In some special occasions where a school has very re-marketable equipment, ATR can offer to those customers profit sharing to where the customer will get a percentage of the resale value when that equipment is sold.
