Permanent Collection Site Slated for Opening on October 8th, 2010

Pontiac, IL– In their continuing efforts to promote environmentally-friendly ways of expanding the regional economy, ATR announced today the expansion of electronic recycling collection/processing capabilities in Central Illinois. B & K Technology Solutions has been conducting business since 1992. ATR was formed as a division of B&K in 2003 to meet growing E-Scrap needs of residential communities and medium-to large-size organizations in the State of Illinois, as well as, across the United States.  ATR specializes in providing a customized Asset Recovery and Recycling program for electronic equipment.  Services include:  onsite pickup, live online inventory with client access to view the de-manufacturing process, and secured data destruction and wiping.  ATR was recently awarded a Grant from the Illinois DCEO that is being used to partially fund a mechanical shredding and sorting line located in Pontiac Illinois.  This low speed inline shredder-sorter will allow even more materials to be processed locally creating additional full time positions in Central Illinois.  ATR’s Headquarters are located in Pontiac Illinois and additionally operates a facility 20 miles outside Dallas Texas.

This permanent collection site will allow ATR to better serve Central Illinois residences located in Tazwell, Peoria, Stark, Woodford, Knox, and Fulton Counties.  The 10,000 sq ft facility will be operated Monday-Friday 9:00-4:00 PM for drop off’s and weekends by appointment.  Refurbished equipment will be available for sale both at this location as well as online at www.atrecycle.com.  Using a Repair and Reuse approach, ATR is able to extend the life of electronics while recovering more value to its business customers.  In coordination with the Grand Opening, ATR and Peoria County will be hosting a 1 day Electronic Collection Event located on the 8202 N. University premises Saturday the 9th of October from 9:00am-2:00pm.  Collection events and locations are for residents only, and business should contact ATR to arrange other services as needed.

Advanced Technology Recycling, Pontiac, IL receives $120,000 IN GRANTS from Illinois Department of commerce and economic Opportunity

Grants To Help Local Recycler Increase Efficiency and Competitiveness

Pontiac, IL– In their continuing efforts to promote environmentally-friendly ways of expanding the regional economy, ATR announced today the award of $120,000 in grants from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) to expand both its electronics recycling collection and processing capabilities and capacity.

This 2010 grant is the third grant ATR has received in 5 years.  The success of these grants has enabled ATR to grow successfully from an employee base of five in 2005 to 30 employees in 2010.

A $74,970 grant was awarded to help ATR expand its processing services.  Grant funds will be used to purchase an inline low speed, hi torque shredder/sorter.  This type of shredder will allow ATR to mechanically process certain E-scrap items saving time as well as, producing better back end materials for recycling.  It is also expected to lead to the creation of at least two full-time jobs.

A $45,030 grant was awarded to help ATR expand its collection capabilities.  Grant funds will be used to purchase an additional 24foot box truck with lift, pallet racking system and hard drive security cage. The purpose of this grant is to lend support to ATR’s collection efforts that is further expanding into the surrounding Counties, eventually covering the entire downstate Illinois area.  It is also expected to lead to the creation of a least two full-time jobs.
