Advanced
Technology Recycling
Barbara J.
Ehresman
President
Please let me take this opportunity to
introduce you to Advanced Technology Recycling (ATR). ATR is a
wholly owned subsidiary of B&K Technology Solutions and is operating
in the State of Illinois. We currently offer E-Waste recycling and
Asset Recovery services covering the entire State of Illinois and
additionally have an office located in the southwestern corridor of
Michigan.
Our primary focus is to establish
and maintain strong business relationships with small to mid size
companies and provide Asset Recovery and E-Waste recycling for their
IT infrastructure. Historically, B&K Technology Solutions has
operated in the IT services business since 1992 and continues to
provide small to mid size companies with IT solutions that enable
them to be more competitive in their respective markets. ATR is an
extension of these services and is rapidly becoming an important
part in any IT manager’s portfolio. There are thousands of
companies that claim to be “asset recovery specialist”, but most
operate using the common business model of accepting all their
clients excess equipment, skimming the “good equipment for resale”
and dumping the rest.
We differ significantly from these companies in that we approach
your IT assets in a “Repair and Remarket” approach. What this means
is that we attempt to repair any equipment that has value left in
secondary markets in addition to remarketing equipment. A majority
of companies don’t repair anything. They simply test and resell.
Equipment that is non repairable or has little resell market will be
environmentally processed for further refining into recycled
products. We are proud of the fact that we disassemble your
products and provide detailed reports to the Illinois Department of
Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) telling where your
equipment was sent. Your steel is sent to steel recyclers, plastic
to plastic recyclers, monitors to monitor recyclers and so on.
The most common question we hear is?
“Is my equipment worth anything?” In most cases it is. We weigh,
evaluate, and estimate the value of your equipment based on age,
condition, completeness, and market demand and then credit this
amount against your account. This credit is used to offset your
initial logistics and processing charge and in most cases is at
least the amount of the logistics charges. They key to recovering
value from your assets is speed to market. The longer you wait. The
less it is worth. Once your equipment is picked up and inventoried,
the data is transferred into our online system located at
www.bktechsolutions.com,
www.atrecycle.com and
www.cash4computers.com. All your data can be viewed and printed
allowing you to track the equipment in process.
Finally, at ATR we promise to provide
secure and confidential destruction of your company’s sensitive
information while disposing your IT assets. The obligation to
maintain the privacy and security of personal information has
reached a critical level. Two pieces of federal legislation mandate
rules about how businesses must guard information they receive from
or gather about those people with whom they do business. The
privacy provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the Gramm-Leach Blilely Act (GLBA)
apply strict rules to the disclosure of information in certain
industries. They also set penalties for failure to meet their
requirements and they authorize certain federal governmental
agencies to enforce their provisions.
In closing, we hope you will
consider ATR as your IT partner in the handling of E-Waste and Asset
Recovery. We are proud of our history in the IT services market and
our customer retention rate of over 99%. We’re confident given the
opportunity we can help identify areas for improvement that allow
you to recover more dollars on your assets while freeing you of the
time, dollars, and responsibilities of E-waste thus resulting in
more time spent on your core business. Thank you in advance for
your time and consideration and we look forward to hearing from you
in the future.
